Many army ranges worldwide are equipped with the rugged and reliable Fixed Electric Target (FET) produced by Royal Ordnance, Blackburn. The control of these units was accomplished originally by the standard console, which used manual up and down switching.

The mechanical functions of the unit are still effective, however the control of the mechanism is achieved by mechanical relays which are reaching the end of their life and are costly to replace.

Most UK Army ranges are equipped with the rugged and reliable Range Console produced by Royal Ordnance, Blackburn. A large number of the units are still serviceable, however some of the switches are nearing the end of their useful life and the mechanical counters are wearing out.

The Flight Follower System type 630 uses a computer-controlled rotating mirror to allow projectiles of varying calibres and velocities to be filmed by a high-speed video camera. A projectile can be accurately tracked over distances up to several hundred metres.

The MS Instruments PLC Barrel Straightness Gauge is a device used to measure the straightness of a barrel or tube at multiple positions along its length. The system comprises the laser and target assemblies along with a charger and a data-logging unit. This latter device comes in two forms: A standalone simple display of target positions or a Notebook PC unit.
